Community Integration Services

We know that not everyone wants a job right now, and that’s okay. Community Integration is about more than work. It’s about helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) live full lives: discovering what matters to them, building everyday skills, and connecting to people and places that bring them joy.

At JCI, Community Integration Services are built around each person’s unique strengths and goals. We support people who want to explore new activities, try different routines, learn life skills, volunteer, connect socially, or prepare for work down the line. Some people come to us for connection. Others are focused on stability, structure, or long-term independence.

Services are available at our Selma and Erwin locations, in the community, or at job sites depending on your needs and goals. Most services are funded through Medicaid’s Tailored Plan or  Innovations Waiver, with referrals typically made through EIPD, your Care Manager, or another service coordinator.  If you are unsure if you qualify, please reach out and we will work with you to find out what you may qualify for.

How To Get Started

Getting connected to Community Integration Services at JCI is simple, but every person’s path may look a little different depending on what support you need.

Most of our services require a referral or service authorization through a care manager, Tailored Plan, or another provider.

If you’re not sure where to begin, we can help you figure it out.

You can:

  • Talk with your care manager or support team

  • Reach out to us directly if you’re a parent, family member, or provider who wants to learn more. We’ll guide you through the next steps.

We’ll listen, help you explore your options, and make sure you get connected to the right service—whether it’s ADVP, Community Living Supports, Supported Employment, or something else. We’re here to walk with you from day one.
